- ➤ Murrieta’s Dorothy McElhinney Middle School was named a 2025 California Blue Ribbon School by the California Department of Education — the only Riverside County school to earn the honor. The award recognizes the school's strong academic results and work to close achievement gaps. Valley News
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Health officials with Riverside University Health System Public Health warned Riverside County residents that 18 bats have been confirmed rabid this year—up from 15 in 2024—and urged everyone, including pet owners, not to handle bats to avoid exposure to rabies. They stressed that a bat bite can occur without leaving marks and emphasized seeking immediate care if any exposure is suspected. Valley News

- ➤ Murrieta attorney and world-class skydiver Amelia Dunaway won gold in the women’s category at the FAI World Cup of Wingsuit Flying in the Czech Republic last month—her win helped Team USA secure silver overall.
