- ➤ The City of Murrieta started a 4,500-square-foot expansion of the Public Library’s Children's section that will nearly double the space to more than 7,200 square feet (the $8 million project began in September 2025 and will be completed in Fall). - ➤ Week 7 of high school football in Southwest Riverside County produced thrilling matchups and dramatic finishes. In Murrieta, the Nighthawks beat Chaparral 56—42 with a daring fake punt while the Mesa Rams won 42—21 as other schools delivered key plays across the weekend. Valley News
- ➤ Edward Finger left his Murrieta home to race at Barona Speedway on September 13 when his family chose the track over Perris Auto Speedway to save on ticket and parking costs while celebrating multiple birthdays. He finished second in the Pure Stocks main event in a 1-2-3 team finish behind teammate Randy Alldrege and ahead of his uncle Brian Fitzgibbons — a result that tied family milestones with racing success.
