COMMUNITY NEWS
- ➤ On July 29, the Riverside County Board of Supervisors approved $160,000—Unincorporated Communities Initiative funding—for the D5 Furry Pets Foster Care program that helps dogs and cats find homes at the San Jacinto animal shelter. The board also authorized the Department of Animal Services to keep running the program to lower kennel numbers. Valley News

- ➤ County Supervisor Yxstian Gutierrez sent a letter to District 5 residents about new resource investments to support students as the back-to-school season nears. He urged families to help children set goals and explore new subjects—promising a fresh start for local youth. Valley News
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Riverside County Board of Supervisors voted 5-0 on July 29 to allow bids for a project that will widen Pourroy Road and add a sidewalk on Murrieta Hot Springs Road. The project will add a second 12-foot traffic lane—designed to ease traffic congestion at a key intersection. Valley News
- ➤ Riverside County voters can cast their ballots at six vote centers in Assembly District 63 starting today for the August 26 special election + six more centers will open on August 23. Voters can use a paper ballot, touch screen or drop off vote-by-mail ballots at any approved drop box. Valley News
