- ➤ California State Treasurer Fiona Ma attended an Olivia Newton-John tribute concert at the Pavilion stage behind the Santa Rosa Plateau Visitor Center on July 19 to honor the Nature Education Foundation (NEF) staff and volunteers. She presented awards (marking NEF’s 22nd anniversary) to recognize their commitment to nature education. Valley News

- ➤ Experts warn that vehicles can spark wildfires in California due to metal parts and hot exhaust—residents in Murrieta are urged to inspect their vehicles to help prevent potential fires. Valley News
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ CAL FIRE and Riverside County are upgrading their emergency fleet by adding 18 Type I fire engines—six rescue squads, three quick-response patrols, two quints, an aerial fire truck, a breathing support unit, a hazardous materials unit and an excavator to tackle wildfire and related hazards. Many apparatus have already arrived while the rest will join the fleet by the end of 2025. Valley News
