  • Visit Temecula Valley and the Temecula Valley Winegrowers Association oppose SDG&E's proposed Golden Pacific Powerlink route, saying the 500-kV overhead transmission line risks harming local tourism + agriculture and escalating wildfire risks in corridors near state Route 79 South, Vail Lake, Galway Downs and Temecula Parkway.  Valley News

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Elsinore Valley Municipal Water District board approved a support agreement with West Yost on May 14 for a $740,590 salt and nutrient management plan in the Elsinore Groundwater Management Zone. The contract covers services through 2030 with post-monitoring ending July 31, 2031, and an option for one-year extension.  Valley News

  • Murrieta resident Sean Bowers is now the executive vice president of sports management at Frontwave Arena and led the San Diego Sockers to win the Ron Newman Cup in April, defeating the Milwaukee Wave in the playoffs (his new role also includes overseeing the developmental San Diego Clippers basketball team).  Valley News
  • Galway Downs in Temecula will host the first championships in the Western U.S. for the USEA Intercollegiate Eventing Program and IEL starting in 2027—organizers say the event will feature regional equestrian teams competing for top honors.  Valley News
