Valley-Wide Recreation and Park District will offer free Halloween events this month, including a Block Party on October 18 from 3:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Valle Vista Community Center and a Trunk or Treat on October 24 from 4:30 to 6 p.m. at Winchester-Domenigoni Park. It will also hold a Halloween Spooktacular at Rancho Bella Vista Community Center—31757 Browning St. in Murrieta—from 5 to 8 p.m.

The Murrieta Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on October 22 at 6:00 p.m. at City Hall, 1 Town Square to review a plan that subdivides 5.08 acres into two parcels—one measuring 1.63 acres and the other 3.45 acres—with Neighborhood Commercial zoning and an environmental exemption; residents may submit written comments or attend to speak at the meeting. Additional details and the project documents are available at the Planning Division during regular business hours.

The Jojoba Hills SKP Resort's Annual Community Yard Sale is scheduled for Oct. 17 through Oct. 19 and will run daily from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event features donations from resort residents by 300 families—continuing a tradition that started in 1996.
